Martin Luther King in Tunbridge Wells

I have a dream that one day this town will rise up and live out the true meaning of its greed:
We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are not created equal.

I have a dream that one day on the checkout of Sainsbury's the staff of former staff and the sons
of former staff will be able to sit down together at the table of Sankey's.

I have a dream that one day even the town of Tunbridge Wells, a town sweltering with the heat of
large Americanos, sweltering with the heat of lattes, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my Kath Kidston purchases will one day live in a town where they will not be
judged by the quality of the giftwrap but by the content of the cardboard box. I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Sherwood, with its vacuous chavs, with its bus service having
its buses dripping with the throngs of senior shoppers and tartan trolleys; one day right down in Sherwood
big chav boys and chav girls will be able to join hands with big Village boys and Village girls
as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day every coffee shop shall be exalted, and every estate agents and boutique shall be
made low, the rough civic centre places will be bulldozed, and the crooked fish nibbling feet places will be made straight, and
the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.
